Research suggests that being around trees is good for our mental and social well-being. They have a number of benefits that can contribute to increased happiness and in this month’s newsletter, we give you a few reasons why.

Connecting to nature is one of the most powerful things you can do but we can’t just be there, we have to embrace the moment to make sure we can take the maximum benefits out of it: listen the nature’s sound, the cool breeze on your face, the smell of the land, your feet touching the ground and the wind in the trees. A dive into something you were not expecting and that suddenly is taking you to a new place where balance comes at ease.

Stress is so intrinsic to modern life that these little steps outside can help us take an inner journey and figure out what is really important in our lives. We should take the time to disconnect from the pressures of city life, work and constant interactions with technology.

It is proven that trees have a magical way of making us feel better. Not only do they produce oxygen, which is essential for human survival, but also breathing in fresh air can help you feel more energized and refreshed, which can contribute to a more positive mood. This positive mood will then reduce your stress and depression, improving your mental health: research has shown that spending time in nature can help reduce anxiety because trees in particular have a calming effect and can help you feel more relaxed and at ease.

At Corc Yoga, we are surrounded by the Portuguese cork trees and that contact made a huge impact on the way we see and feel nature around us, inspiring the production of our sustainable products and increasing even more the respect we have for our natural sources.

Take the opportunity to exercise, yoga, meditate or simply have a cup of tea and see the result, we believe that the change you will feel is almost immediate, a real mental reset! Overall, spending time around trees can have a positive impact on your physical and mental health, so head outside! People say that the best things in life are free, and so is nature, enjoy!
